Well, we've come to Bazeilles in France again, and it started snowing heavily a few hours ago...and it's still going, although not as heavy as it was before. We just went for a walk in the snow, and it was wonderful. In fact, it's been snowing a lot over the weekend, also at Thiaumont (where the school is) and I still find it fantastic!
So, I'm supposed to be teaching tomorrow morning at 8.30, but it's not going to happen, because we're not going anywhere - the snow is too deep to risk driving now. I was going to drive back, but I think the sensible thing to do is to stay put. It takes an hour in good conditions, would be about 3 if we went now! It's an individual student I have tomorrow morning, so I'm sure someone can cover the class...
We're just in the process of sending text messages to the person responsible for scheduling at the school, to talk about the situation, and it seems she's giving us a bit of a hard time - can we drive back carefully and spend the night back there at the school, she's just asked! My answer is negative - like I mentioned in my last post, I will not be pressurised into doing anything I don't want to do any more.
I'm also supposed to be teaching in Luxembourg too tomorrow, we'll have to see what happens there...I will have to stand firm if I feel it will be dangerous - they may still expect me to go. Well, I love the snow anyway, it always gives me a happy feeling - and other people hate it...it certainly makes travel difficult, that's for sure.
Other than that, life is the same as before...I still think about lots of things, for example what I wrote in my last post...I'm not really so depressed as that post made out, by the way! I've started writing in a journal every night - nothing ground breaking in there, but I think it helps to get ones thoughts 'out' as it were... and just doing other things that I enjoy... I really need to start doing some reading for my MA - but it's hard to find the time...and now I'm into my second beer...and feeling tired :)
So, I'm sorry for those of you reading in the UK - I hear that all you have is rain! (again!) I think I'll go and gaze out of the window a little longer...
